Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club Caterers
After the departure of Sweet Netty’s catering in November 2025, Club fulltime staff took over the kitchen duties for a couple of months. The meals provided by the Club filled the spot but were hardly culinarily delights! The Club surveyed participants and members to understand what meals and snacks they would like served on race and pool nights. Without the support of the those attending our race meetings, it would not be viable for a quality caterer to take over our kitchen. Fortunately, through word-of-mouth, the Club was able to secure Scott Alsop and his team from Alsop & Co as our race meeting and function caterers and the menu improved significantly. Restaurant quality entrees, mains and desserts were made available on Wednesday nights. "Hot boxes”, sandwiches, rolls, pies/pasties, slices and fried snacks were made available at all race meetings including Wednesday nights.
Scott Alsop has over 30 years' experience in wedding & event catering, creating memorable moments in some of the world's most prestigious wedding venues, such as Sorn Castle in Ayrshire, Scotland & Kingston Bagpuize House in Oxfordshire, UK, and here in Ballarat, at the Iconic Craigs Royal Hotel. Alsop and Co are the current caterers at the Buninyong Golf Club.
The Club is seeing a steady increase in functions booked at the Ballarat Function Centre, supported by the new room configuration and the range and quality of meals offered by Alsop & Co.
